WRNC invites wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, vet techs and associated wildlife professionals to attend its 13th symposium.  The symposium is being held at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh on January 24 - 25, 2015.  

In addition to general sessions appropriate for all rehabilitators, there is a track of sessions for beginning rehabilitators. There is a track of sessions that is approved for veterinary CE credit and and a track approved for vet techs. A variety of workshops are offered. Many sessions are appropriate for more than one track. Please note that the program is subject to change.

Your registration fee covers lunch both Saturday and Sunday. It also covers the banquet Saturday evening if you register by January 16 and select the banquet option when you register.

Registration

The registration fee is $80 for registrations made by January 12 and $90 after January 12. A place at the banquet is not reserved for those registering after January 16. There is an additional $5 fee for each lab taken. We are using the Office of Continuing Education at NCSU to process our registrations. Your 2015 membership is included in the registration fee.
You first enter membership information on this site and then you are transferred to the CE Office site to continue to registration for the symposium.

Online registration will be open through Friday, January 16. It will be closed after Friday, but you may come and pay your registration fee at the door.

A confirmation email is sent from the CE Office after you register. It lists the options that you chose (labs, banquet etc). Please check the email carefully to ensure that you have made the lab and banquet reservations that you want.

 
     
 

Workshops/Labs

There is a $5 fee for each lab taken. This fee helps cover the cost of supplies used in the lab.You are required to select and pay for labs when you register. Please read the descriptions of the labs in the session abstracts before deciding on the labs that you wish to take. We encourage everyone to sign up for labs with care. The lab fee is non-refundable and non-transferable if you later change your mind. Also, if you select a lab and then don't attend, you may keep someone else who wanted to attend from doing so.

Seats in labs are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Register early to insure placement in the labs of your choice.

We recommend that beginners and rehabilitators who have had little or no formal training take the following:

Events

Banquet
Enjoy great food and lots of fellowship at our catered banquet Saturday evening. The banquet is held at the Hampton Inn & Suites. It starts at 7:30 pm. The cost is included in your registration fee if you register by January 16 and select the banquet option on your registration. A place at the banquet is not guaranteed for those registering after January 16.

IceBreaker
Meet your fellow rehabilitators at the IceBreaker Friday evening from
7-9 pm in the Hampton Inn & Suites.
Light hors d'oeuvres are provided.

Raffle
Raffle items are on display throughout the day on Saturday.
Tickets may be purchased at the registration desk.
The drawing is held on Saturday at 5:30 pm.


 
     
 

Symposium Scholarships

Two scholarships, that cover the symposium attendance fee and hotel lodging* are available for WRNC members with financial need.  To apply send a letter explaining how you expect to benefit from the symposium and why financial assistance to attend is needed.  Send the letter to WRNC, PO Box 2844, Durham, NC 27715.  Applications must be postmarked no later than January 1, 2015. Please include "Symposium Scholarship" on your letter.  For additional information contact Jean Chamberlain at jean@ncwildliferehab.org

*Lodging will be provided only if scholarship is awarded to applicant residing one hour or more from symposium location.
