WRNC invites wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, vet techs and associated wildlife professionals to attend its 17th symposium.  The symposium is being held at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh on January 26 - 27, 2019.
In addition to general sessions appropriate for all rehabilitators, there is a track of sessions for beginning rehabilitators. There is a track of sessions that is approved for veterinary CE credit and and a track approved for vet techs. A variety of workshops are offered. Many sessions are appropriate for more than one track. Please note that the program is subject to change.

Registration

The registration fee is $80 for registrations made by January 13 and $90 after January 13. There is an additional fee for each lab taken. A catered lunch is available on Saturday and Sunday for $5 per meal. There is a $15 fee for registrants who wish to attend the banquet.

We are using the Office of Continuing Education at NCSU to process our registrations. Your 2019 membership through June 30th is included in the $80 registration fee. If you have already paid your membership dues, i.e. your dues were paid after May 31 this year, you may select the membership paid option when registering.

You first enter membership information on this site and then you are transferred to the CE Office site to continue to registration for the symposium.

Registration is closed.

A confirmation email is sent from the CE Office after you register. It lists the options that you chose (labs, banquet etc). Please check the email carefully to ensure that you have made the lab, lunch and banquet reservations that you want. We recommend you bring a copy of the email with you as it is your proof that you made the reservation.

Online registration will be open through Tuesday, January 22. It will be closed after Tuesday, but you may come and pay your registration fee at the door.

Workshops/Labs

There is a $5 fee for each lab taken. The fees help cover the cost of supplies used in the labs.

You are required to select and pay for labs/workshop when you register. Please read the descriptions of the labs in the session abstracts before deciding on the labs that you wish to take. We encourage everyone to sign up for labs with care. The lab fee is non-refundable and non-transferable if you later change your mind. Also, if you select a lab and then don't attend, you may keep someone else who wanted to attend from doing so.

Seats in labs are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Register early to insure placement in the labs of your choice.

Taking photographs is not permitted in the labs.
If you are allergic to latex please bring your own gloves.

Banquet
Enjoy great food and lots of fellowship at our catered banquet Saturday evening. The banquet is held at the University Club. It starts at 6:30. There is a $15 fee for registrants who wish to attend the banquet. Reservations for the banquet must be made by January 18. The banquet is held at

7-9 pm at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

Raffle items are on display throughout the day on Saturday.
Tickets may be purchased at the sales table.

Symposium Scholarships

Three scholarships, that cover the symposium attendance fee and hotel lodging* are available for WRNC members with financial need.  To apply send an email to the WRNC president explaining how you expect to benefit from the symposium and why financial assistance to attend is needed.  Applications must be received no later than December 15, 2018.

Continuing Education Credit

The WRNC symposium is approved for continuing education units for renewal of the Certified Wildlife Rehabilitor (CWR) certificate.

The WRNC symposium is approved for up to 10 hours of veterinary CE credit in North Carolina.

The WRNC symposium is approved for up to 12 hours of vet tech CE credit in North Carolina.

No live animals (pets or wildlife) are allowed in the college buildings during the WRNC Symposium, except by advance written permission.

Anyone found in violation of this policy will be asked to leave the symposium immediately, with no refund of monies paid.
