WRNC invites rehabilitators, veterinarians, vet techs and associated wildlife professionals to attend its 9th symposium.  The symposium is being held at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh on January 28 - 30, 2011.  

In addition to general sessions appropriate for all rehabilitators, there is a track of sessions for beginning rehabilitators. There is a track of sessions that is approved for veterinary CE credit and and a track approved for vet techs. A variety of workshops are offered. Many sessions are appropriate for more than one track. All sessions are open to everyone. Please note that the program is subject to change.

Your registration fee covers the banquet Saturday evening, lunch both days, and participation in two workshops.

Registration

The registration fee is $75 for registrations made by January 15 and $85 after January 15. We are using the Office of Continuing Education at NCSU to process our registrations. Your 2011 membership is included in the registration fee. You will first enter membership information on this site and then you will be transferred to the CE Office site to continue to registration for the symposium.

 
If you want to register for the symposium, but do not wish to become a member register here without membership.
 
     
 

Workshops/Labs

The registration fee includes 2 workshops which you select when you register. (There is an additional fee for the cage building workshop.) Please read the descriptions of the workshops in the session abstracts to help in making your selection. Seats in workshops are assigned on a first come first serve basis. Register early to insure placement in the workshops of your choice. If you wish to take more than 2 workshops there is a $10 fee for each additional workshop.

Avian Care
The avian care sessions are intended for rehabilitators who wish to obtain their federal permit. The sessions are comprehensive, covering all aspects of avian care. The topics covered include:

Oiled Bird Workshop

An Oiled Bird Workshop is being held at the College on Friday,
January 28, making it convenient to attend both our symposium and

The Brownstone will extend the discount rate to Thursday night for anyone attending the workshop.

Banquet
Enjoy great food and lots of fellowship at our catered banquet Saturday evening. The banquet is held at the Holiday Inn Brownstone. It starts at 7:30 pm. The cost is included in your registration fee.

Symposium Scholarships

Two scholarships, that cover the symposium attendance fee and *hotel lodging are available for WRNC members with financial need.  To apply send a letter explaining how you expect to benefit from the symposium and why financial assistance to attend is needed.  Send the letter to WRNC, PO Box 2844, Durham, NC 27715.  Applications must be postmarked no later than January 3, 2011.
